Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan taking on each other with their films Sultan and Raees at the box-office next year sent shock waves in the industry. Clashes have never done any good to the business as the collections of both films get affected. In the past, several biggies have pitted their films against each other like Aamir Khan’s Lagaan took on Sunny Deol’s Gaddar, SRK’s Om Shanti Om released with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya. More recently YRF released Jab Tak Hai Jaan with Ajay Devgn’s Son Of Sardaar, with the latter even filing a complaint against YRF for taking away maximum screens.

This year will again see a big clash between SRK and Bhansali with Dilwale releasing on the same date as Bajirao Mastani. However, as far as Raees and Sultan are concerned, Ritesh Sidhwani, who is producing Raees, is hoping to avoid a clash. During the promotion of Bangistan, he was quoted saying, “Once both the films (Raees and Sultan) are done, we will sit and talk. Several films are announced but then the release dates are moved too.”Here, we take a look at some B-Town friends who will never ever pit their films against each other.

Ekta Kapoor and Karan JoharEkta and Karan are close friends — they were even colloabrating on producing a film together. Karan had tweeted, “Ekta and I are super excited about the script we are producing together....will announce details as we cast the film and title it!” Though the film is yet to take off, these two will not clash with each other knowingly or unknowingly. They had come close when Ekta’s Ek Villain and Karan’s Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya were slated to release in the same weekend on June 27, 2014, but Karan moved his film ahead by a fortnight to July 11 and the clash was averted.

Karan Johar and Shah Rukh KhanThe fact that KJo has made four consecutive films including his debut directorial Kuch Kuch Hota Hai followed by Kal Ho Naa Ho, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and My Name Is Khan with SRK should tell you the kind of relationship the two share. There had been whispers of a fallout between the two, especially when Shah Rukh did not make an appearance in the last season of Koffee With Karan. But Karan went on SRK’s show India Poochega Sabse Shana Kaun and put rest to the rumours. Now, the two have come together to co-produce a film. One thing is for sure — Come what may, Karan will never pit his film against a SRK-starrer.

Karan Johar and Aditya ChopraKJo and Adi are buddies, who used to hang out together while growing up. Karan not only assisted Aditya in his debut directorial Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, but also did a cameo in it. Forget clashing with each other’s films the duo will go out of their way to accommodate the other. For instance, Aditya had booked August 14 for his Fan, but the film got delayed. So, he promptly called up his friend Karan to inform about the delay and asked him to take the slot for his film Brothers. Touched by his gesture, Karan tweeted, “Adi just called and asked me to release Brothers on the 14th of August, 2015 as Fan is postponed…gestures like these make my day special.”

Aamir Khan and Salman KhanThe duo shared screen space in one of the cult comedy films Andaz Apna Apna after which Aamir didn’t want to work with Salman who he found rude. But that was then. Over the years, the duo not only resolved their differences, but have become good friends. While Salman promoted Dhoom 3 on his show Bigg Boss by wearing Aamir’s hat that he is seen sporting in the film, Aamir tweeted Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s first look. With the two going out of their way to promote each other’s film, a clash between the two is unthinkable.

Salman Khan and Ajay DevgnThe two worked together for the first time in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and though it was only after a decade that they did another film, London Dreams together Ajay and Salman have remained good friends. They may not shout about their friendship from the rooftop, but the fact that Salman appeared in a song for Ajay in Son Of Sardaar and the latter did a cameo in Ready says it all. The question of the two clashing doesn’t arise and even if unknowingly they get pitted against each other, it will take just a phone call from the other to avert the clash.
