You might be the biggest Dhoni fan but we bet even you didn't know most of these facts!

MS Dhoni has millions of fans across the globe. Some of them are die-hard fanatics. His biopic MS Dhoni: The Untold Story which released this Friday celebrates the life of our favourite captain cool in the best way possible. Dhoni fans across the country have gone berserk with the film's brilliant screenplay and Sushant Singh Rajput's terrific performance as the cricketer.

We watched the film and we were surprised with few interesting facts about Dhoni that Neeraj Pandey revealed in his biopic. Here are 5 of them!

Dhoni never loved cricket!
A young Mahi was more interested in football. Yes, the cricketer was hardly interested in cricket. As shown in the film, a young Mahi had once told his school sports coach, 'Chhote ball se kaun khelega'. But it was his goal-keeping technique that got him a chance to play for the school cricket team. And the rest, as they say was history!

Helicopter shot wasn't his creation!
MS Dhoni is famous for his helicopter shot. The terrific cricketing shot that always hits the ball for a huge six has now been aped by many across the nation. While Sushant mastered the stroke as well, the biopic revealed that it wasn't Dhoni's technique at all. Rather, it was his gully friend Santosh who taught him how to hit the helicopter shot.

Yuvraj and Mahi had a history before being teammates!
Did you know this? Both Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni knew each other quite well even before they were playing together for the Indian cricket team? We didn't. It was during the Indian team selection process that Dhoni's team went against Yuvi's in the zonal matches. Yuvi, shown as a suave but calculative player made use of the occasion and beat Dhoni to become the player who gets selected in the national team. Although the two became great friends later on, their relationship did start on a rough patch - one that's filled with insecurity and competition.

Dhoni likes women who don't recognise him!
Now this is funny. Both the girls in his life- ex-girlfriend Priyanka Jha and wife Sakshi Dhoni are shown very similar to each other. While Priyanka and Dhoni met on a flight where Priyanka failed to recognise Dhoni, Sakshi met him years later at Taj Bengal Hotel, Kolkata where Sakshi didn't know the person she was interrogating was actually the captain of the Indian Cricket team. Dhoni even took an autograph of Sakshi for her honesty. But what we made out of the two situation was that our Captain Cool only liked women who didn't know who he really was!

It was indeed he who got Dravid and Ganguly ousted from the team!
While the other biopics usually go about tom-tomming about the personality, making him a national hero, Neeraj wanted his biopic to be a little more real than the others. Dhoni too didn't have any apprehensions about being shown as the mastermind behind the ouster of cricketing legends like Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid from the one-day team. Although Dhoni has been accused of the same for years, he's never admitted to doing it in public. His biopic revealed that it was his idea to get thesee three legends removed from the team. Why? Because he wanted to build a young team for the 2011 World Cup with better fielders and he wasn't too happy with the 'fitness' levels of these two cricketers.
