62-year-old Tamil actor-director Rajashekar passes away

Rajashekar, a resident of Chennai, was getting treatment for ill health in the city's Ramchandra hospital

Tamil actor-director Rajashekar, most popular in the Television world, left for the heavenly abode on September 8, 2019. A resident of Valsaravakkam, Chennai, he was getting treated in the city's Ramachandra Hospital, where he passed away due to ill health.

Rajashekar had entered Tamil industry as a director, who helmed movies like Palaivanacholai and Chinnapoove Mella Pesu. He had made his direction debut alongside Robert Ashirwatham in the movie Kudisai, which was directed by Jayabarathi.

Rajashekar and Robert had then collaborated for Oru Thalai Ragam, Palaivanacholai and Chinnapoove Mella Pesu, which they helmed under the name Robert-Rajasekhar. Palaivanacholai, starring Suhasini Manirathnam in the lead role, also turned out to be a hit.

As an actor, Rajashekar made his debut with Nizhalgal, directed by Bharathirajaa. He was also a student of Film Institute in Chennai, who was recently known for his works in Tamil Television industry, which can also be called ‘chinna thirai’. He found a megahit in the serial Saravanan Meenakshi.
