From acting to crooning in their own movies, Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Juhi Chawla and Farhan Akhtar have always been a step ahead of their contemporaries. The latest to join the league is one-film-old Alia Bhatt, who sang "Sooha saha" for her forthcoming film "Highway".
Here's a list of Bollywood actors who not only displayed their acting skills on the big screen, but also went behind the mike:
Amitabh Bachchan: The megastar sang "Main yahan tu wahan" for his movie "Baghban". The slow, romantic track is picturised on him and Hema Malini and is about separation. The 71-year-old has also crooned songs in movies like "Bol Bachchan", "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham", "Bhootnath" and "Paa".
Juhi Chawla: The actress mellowed the audience with her voice in "Chalo jane do ab chhodo bhi" from "Bhootnath". She sang the song along with Big B.
Farhan Akhtar: The multi-talented star made his acting debut with the 2008 film "Rock On!!" and also lent his voice for the movie's title track and songs like "Meri laundry ka ek bill" and more. He also sang "Senorita" for the 2011 superhit movie "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara" along with his co-stars Hrithik Roshan and Abhay Deol.
Abhishek Bachchan: After rapping for Rohan Sippy's film "Bluffmaster!" in 2005, he also sang a song for "Bol Bachchan" along with his father Big B and co-star of the movie Ajay Devgn.
Madhuri Dixit: Apart from dancing to the tunes of "Kaahe chhed" for her film "Devdas", the dancing diva also sang the track.
Shah Rukh Khan: Bollywood 'badshah' SRK sang "Apun Bola" for his 2000 hit film "Josh". The track is picturised on the actor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Aamir Khan: The perfectionist also hit the right notes with "Aati kya Khandala" in the 1998 film "Ghulam" with Rani Mukherjee.
Priyanka Chopra: Besides making a splash in the international scene with her albums and singles, Priyanka may be seen crooning for her films in future.
Bollywood stars are quite a talented lot we say.
