Forget acting, it’s music that Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira wants to pursue. She has shown a keen inclination towards music and is all set to join music composer Ram Sampath as his assistant.

Ram was associated with Aamir on his film Delhi Belly and also scored the music of Talaash. His latest project was Raees.

Says a source, “Though Ira was inclined towards music since childhood, it was not something she wanted to explore, so far. But now, she wants to see the creative, production and management side of music, for which she will be joining Ram.”

The source adds that she chose to assist Ram because she feels comfortable working under him as she always liked his music. “Her favourites are songs from Talaash that starred her father and Ambarsariya from Fukrey,” says the source.

Ira is also into sports and played football in school and college. Two years ago, she had organised a celebrity soccer match to raise funds for an animal welfare shelter without seeking her father’s help. “Aamir has been a supportive father, who lets his children experiment and figure out what they would like to do in life. He wants them to choose their paths, make their decisions, and make mistakes and learn from them,” adds the source.
