Bollywood actor Abhay Deol is building an environmentally friendly home keeping with his responsibility as ambassador of the climate project, founded by former US vice-president Al Gore.

The star has already bought one acre of land in North Goa to build his eco-friendly dream house, construction of which begins in a month's time.

Sources close to the actor said the contemporary house designed by architect couple Vishakha and Muninder Chowdhry will reflect Deol's personality and will have four bedrooms, a master bedroom, a living room, an open kitchen and a dining room along with a 22-seater private screening room.

"Abhay wants a house that incorporates environmentally sustainable design. The construction will conform to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) platinum standards in its development," said a source.

LEED is the internationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings.
