Actor Prithviraj’s debut Bollywood film Aiyyaa is yet to hit the big screen but according to sources, the South star is already thrilled with the positive response the film’s trailers have been garnering.
And as he gears for his birthday this time around on October 16 — which is four days after Aiyyaa’s release — the actor is hoping that it will be a double celebration for him. The actor is also said to be all praises for his co-star Rani Mukerji, who he insists made him feel a part of Bollywood from the very first day. “Rani is a star, but she is also one of the most down to earth people I’ve met,” he had said. And apparently the actor has very good reasons to feel that way too.
After all, the actor had Rani celebrating his birthday on sets last year. Prithviraj admits that it’s a birthday he will never forget. “We were shooting on a really crowded street in Pune. I wasn’t even aware if anyone knew that it was my birthday on that day. In the evening, Rani took me to a street where everyone was gathered. They presented me with a cake on this crowded street which read ‘To my handsome heroine’!” says the South star.
But it’s not the only reason. According to sources, Rani would share rather interesting anecdotes about working in Bollywood.
“The two would often chat about the work cultures in the two industries. But beyond that they even bonded on fitness!” says the source. The actor who had been asked to go on a special diet to acquire the six-pack abs for a hot look in the film admits that it was not easy to oscillate between the lean and the muscled look, but adds that it was worth the efforts. “It required absolute control on my diet. It wasn’t exactly my cup of tea, but seeing how it has come off, I really feel that it was all worth it,” he says.
The experience of working in Bollywood seems to have been enjoyable for the actor too. And a source close to the actor reveals that he is open to considering more films here. “He feels that the divide between Bollywood and the South industry is diminishing and soon it may not matter whether an actor originally belongs to Bollywood or South. And he has no qualms about working in any industry as long as the role excites him,” says the source.
