The ‘Kajjal’ actor and her husband, director Ameet Sawant, watched a bull-fight in Spain on their special day

Actor Adita Wahi, (presently seen in ‘Kajjal-Sabke Aankhon Mein Basi’, Sony), who married director Ameet Sawant, has recently completed a year of marriage.

Marriage mania
She proclaims, “This is the best phase of my life! I’ve never been this secure and content before! People say that the romance flies out of the window within six months. But we still wait to sneak out for a coffee, a quick lunch or to make that phone call just to say ‘I love you’!” gushes Adita.

Honeymoon fight
Adita goes on to describe her recent trip to Spain. “After we got married, both of us were too busy to have a honeymoon. But now we are both working on a travel show, which enables us to visit exotic locales. So we decided to celebrate our belated honeymoon in Spain as our first wedding anniversary fell during the time we were shooting there,” says Adita.

She continues, “We intended to do something different from the usual. But I had never imagined in my wildest dreams that Ameet would take me for a bull-fight on our anniversary! It was gory to say the least! But thankfully, we went in for a romantic candlelight dinner later,” she reveals.

Career truths
Adita is also part of a music-based show that has been on air in UK for the last three years apart from ‘Kajjal’. Adita had got a bit wary of playing grey characters in ‘Saarthii’ and then ‘Solhah Singarr’. But her image prevented her from getting positive roles.

“So I took a break for two-three months and it helped! Now, I’m being offered positive characters,” says Adita, adding that she is finding it challenging to play sister to Sachin Tyagi in ‘Kajjal’ as he had played her lover in ‘Solhah Singarr’. “It was a complex love story with me playing the tawaif.  Playing a sister now is a challenge. But I’m enjoying it nevertheless,” Adita signs off.
