Actor Ashiesh Roy reveals that the weekend episode is inspired by the veteran’s film ‘Mahapurush’
The story of people living in a colony, ‘Aek Chabi Hai Padoss Mein’ (Star Plus), deals with various issues touching the lives of the common people. This week, the episode talks about how blind faith can damage our psyche and the need to develop a scientific mind that questions the diktats of faith.
Actor Ashiesh Roy, who plays Sourav Ghosh, in the serial says, “This episode has been inspired by the late Satyajit Ray’s award-winning film ‘Mahapurush’. The episode written and directed by Suvonkar Bannerji is our take on the issue of blind faith.” He adds, “The story will trace how women in the colony get enamoured by a godman who visits them. The god-man’s character is being played by veteran Vallabh Vyas (NSD). My character questions superstitions in the story.”
Ashiesh also reveals, “This was our way of paying a tribute to Satyajit Ray. It’s a very relevant subject even today, and our approach has been satirical rather than preachy. That’s the reason why more people need to see it and question themselves. As for me, I am simply overwhelmed to be chosen to be a part of the maestro’s (Ray) legacy. It has turned out to be amongst my best work.”
