Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan has already overtaken Aamir Khan's Dhoom 3 at the worldwide box office race. Soon enough, even Prabhas starrer Baahubali will be possibly achieving the same feat.

Aamir Khan is possibly the emperor when it comes to ruling the box office. Sitting on the throne, both at the domestic and international levels with his last film PK being India's biggest success till date, Aamir is almost unbeatable. A month back, both the top positions were held by the actor. One month passed and the statistics have changed. Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan brought in a tornado at the box office, taking the cash registers to an all new hiatus. And Prabhas' magnum opus Baahubali zoomed its way to the top, bringing in all the glory at the box office. And a challenge was posted, a threat was posed to Aamir Khan.

While PK still enjoys the coveted throne and will continue to do so until someone else breaks its whopping record, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Baahubali have marched its way to the top, grossing over Rs 500 crore each at the worldwide box office. Here's the lowdown!

PK:

Quietly enjoying the top position currently is Aamir Khan's PK which had a mammoth run at the box office early this year. While it finished at around Rs 334 crore nett at the domestic box office, it grossed a humongous Rs 735 crore worldwide which is beyond anyone's reach at the moment.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan:

An emotional tale with an attitude very un-Salmanish, BB grew strongly over the course of time, thanks to a positive word of mouth that ensued. Growing strength to strength, the film turned out to be Salman's biggest blockbuster till date and has already crossed the Rs 300 crore mark at the domestic level. Not just that, the film has already collected over Rs 550 crore globally, and has now overtaken Aamir's Dhoom 3 to become the second highest grossing Indian film ever.

Dhoom 3:

D:3, being one of the most anticipated films of 2014 rose on the star value and the franchise, bringing in huge moolah both in the Indian and overseas markets. While in India itself, Dhoom 3 packed in around Rs 280 crore, it pocketed a worldwide gross of Rs 542 crore, which is no mean feat! BB has moved slightly ahead of D:3 pushing it to the third position now.

Baahubali:

Another magnum opus, a dream that SS Rajamouli had picturised years back. Finally, he saw his dreams come alive when Baahubali released and gate-crashed into all existing records. Not just the Tamil and Telugu version, but even the Hindi version of Baahubali spelled magic at the box office, bringing in over Rs 100 crore alone. While the film has amassed collections over Rs 280 crore from all its versions, in India alone, Baahubali's 29 day total gross worldwide collections stand at Rs 533 crore, which is just about Rs 9 crore less than Dhoom 3. But given the pace of Baahubali, it is expected to run in the theatres for another week and will possibly dethrone D3 to become the third highest grossing Indian film ever.
