At the 64th edition of the international beauty pageant, former beauty queen Aishwarya Rai Bachchan received the Most Successful Miss World award in London on Sunday.

She was honoured for the embodiment of "beauty with purpose" for over two decades since she was crowned as the Miss World in 1994. While receiving the award, she said: "I stand here overwhelmed by this honour. I thank Miss World Organization for such an incredible honour that I have received..."

She also said, "To have the opportunity to hold the title, to wear the crown with pride... that was my one time to go out there and experience beauty with a purpose...,"

The 41-year-old actress was a vision in a silver Roberto Cavalli gown contrasted with bold red lips. Aishwarya was accompanied by her mother Brinda, husband and actor Abhishek Bachchan and three-year-old daughter Aaradhya on the stage.

The model-turned actress has left no stone unturned to emerge as one of Bollywood's most-talented actress. Though her career graph has gone through certain periods of decline, she has reinvented herself numerous times. Among the several blockbusters, Aishwarya rose to fame by featuring in Sanjay leela Bhansali's Devdas and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.
