Thala Ajith's Viswasam survived at the Box Office despite release opposite Rajinikanth's Petta, and was broadcasted on TV on Ajith's birthday

While Prabhas and Rajinikanth enjoy massive stardom, Ajith has the superstardom on another level. His fans, when they come to it, can help his movies break all records set by Prabhas or Rajinikanth. These fans did just that with Ajith's last movie release Viswasam.

The film which released on Pongal, broke Box office records despite Rajinikanth's Petta release. While Thailavar's film Petta made its World Television Premier on April 14 itself, Thala Ajith's Viswasam was broadcasted on May 1, which also happens to be his birthday.

The result of that, you ask? Thala's film became the most watched South Indian film on Television, beating even the epic Prabhas starrer Baahubali: The Conclusion with great numbers. Not only Baahubali 2, Thalapathy Vijay's Sarkar also was much down the line of most-watched South Indian film on TV.

Here's the latest BARC report:

1 Viswasam-18143

2 Pichaikkaran -17696

3 Baahubali 2 - 17070

4 Sarkar - 16906

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala confirmed the same with a tweet. "#Viswasam TV Premier Impression creates All time Record in South Top-4 Barc South Movies. 1. #Viswasam - 18,143 2. #Pichaikkaran - 17,696 3. #Baahubali2 - 17,070 4. #Sarkar - 16,906," he wrote on his Twitter handle.
