The Super Cops Vs Super Villains track in Hum Ne Li Hai Shapath seems to be working for the show if you go by the ratings. From 0.8, they have risen to 1.4 last week, informs a source.

While the cops in the show played by Aman Verma, Piyush Sachdev and Aamir Dalvi among others remain constant, the villains keep changing. The latest actor to be roped into playing a negative role is Akshay Sethi who has done shows like Saat Phere and Dhoom Machao Dhoom.

He will be brought in as Rohan, a close friend of Meghna (Ojaswi Oberoi) in Shapath. Says Akshay, “I play a character with grey shades. I am playing a young college boy who sees this girl Meghna with super powers. Since the landlord of the place he has rented wants to convert it into a hotel, he uses the girl to stop that.”

Akshay, who was last seen in a dual role of father-son in Sasural Genda Phool is becoming a specialist in crime shows having made appearances in CID, Crime Patrol, Gumrah and now Shapath.

Says Akshay, “I am hesitant to take up a negative role in a serial but I’m okay with doing one-off episodes because that’s the only way you’ll be seen.” In CID he had played an obsessive fan of Kareena Kapoor who happens to be his favourite actress in real life too! He says he will cherish the experience of acting with her.
