The talk of the town ‘Avalukena’ star Anirudh is composing music for Rum. The shoot started with a simple puja on Monday morning with the presence of many from the film, friends and family circle of the crew. Rum stars Anirudh's cousin Hrishikesh (Anirudh's mom and Hrishikesh's mom are sisters) and has Sanchita Shetty, Miya, Vivek and Narain as well.

Hrishikesh made his debut in Dhanush's Vellailla Pattadhari for which Anirudh scored the music. The music and the film were superhits.
Vijayaraghavendra of ‘All in Pictures’ who is producing this film said, "Hrishikesh is a good friend of mine. When we happened to hear this script, we had no words than ‘Let’s start’. ‘All in Pictures’ is very keen on touching different horizons of storytelling. We have two more projects to be announced shortly. Rum is probably the only heist-horror Tamil film in recent times." The production house made Masala Padam earlier.

“Vivek sir who was never been seen in a horror flick has been roped in. ‘Anjaathe’ fame Narain is doing a first of its kind role in his career. After Vedalam, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan and Thangamagan the audience is excited to see Anirudh composing for a horror film for the first time. A bunch of youngsters have put in their best efforts. Rum will be a perfect package of entertainment," added Vijayaraghavendra.
