Rana Daggubati as Bhallala Deva in Baahubali series

While Rana Daggubati was missing at the poster launch of Baahubali 2, here's what he told us about the film...

Rana Daggubati was missing from the poster launch of Baahubali 2 that happened at the MAMI Festival on Saturday. The actor immediately apologised for missing out on the trailer launch but here's what he had told me when I met him on the sets of Baahubali 2.

Baahubali had released and it had become a huge sensation at the box office. It not only raked in over Rs 600 crore at the global BO but also became the third biggest Indian film ever. Rana says that the team always believed that the film will do big at the ticket counters.

He says, "Many people felt that it's too big a film and too high budgeted. But the 1000 members of the crew who have worked relentlessly on making this gigantic magnum opus all believed in the project from the very beginning. We always knew it would set new benchmarks for sure."

Right after Baahubali managed to rake in over Rs 600 crore in its kitty, Aamir Khan had commented on its supreme success and said that Baahubali 2 will do 1000 crore. When we tell Rana about it, he laughs, "Bigger than this? I don't know how you can get bigger than Baahubali. But obviously, it will do way more than 600 crore this time, also because of the inflation. But it's also not just about the box office numbers. It's about the excitement on the sets which is unmatchable."
