While Bajrangi Bhaijaan has raced ahead into the Rs 600 crore bracket at the global box office, Baahubali is lagging a little behind at Rs 580 crore.

July 2015 saw two of the biggest releases in India. SS Rajamouli's Baahubali featuring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannah and Anushka Shetty on one hand and Kabir Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan starring Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Nawazuddin Siddiqui on the other. Soon, the box office race began. And it's continuing till date.

Baahubali which opened to a magnanimous Rs 50 crore at the domestic circuit maintained its momentum and soon entered the Rs 250 crore club in the domestic circuit alone. The film is nearing Rs 300 crore nett mark at the domestic centre, including all its versions. Internationally too, the film has been raining crores and in total, the worldwide gross of the film after around a month and half stands at a whopping Rs 580 crore.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan which released just one week after has turned out to be Salman's biggest blockbuster till date. With a decent start, the film soon picked up and grew over the weekend, bringing in huge moolah over the first week and was Salman's first entry into the Rs 300 crore nett club, keeping the domestic box office in mind. Right now, after a month and a week, BB has raked in around Rs 320 crore nett at the Indian box office. The film has been performing exceedingly well abroad as well and has become Salman's highest grosser in the overseas market till date. Cumulatively, the film stood at a monumental gross figures of Rs 606 crore at the worldwide box office.

Although, the two films have released over a month back, they haven't lost steam and are performing decently well even now. The releases in between- be it Brothers, Drishyam, or All is Well - could hardly cause a threat to their performances at the box office. While the two films have kept the cash registers running, Baahubali, despite having a better opening as compared to Bajrangi Bhaijaan is lagging behind the Salman starrer by over Rs 25 crore.
