Even as actor Sudeep is winning accolades for his villainous act in the Telugu film Eega or it’s increasingly popular Tamil version, Naan Ee, buzz in Sandalwood is that another lead actor, Aditya, has said yes to playing a baddie in Vaalu, a Tamil film starring Simbu.
Upendra also had played the bad guy in a Vishal starrer previously and if the buzz is true, Aditya will be the second leading man from the Kannada industry to be playing a negative character in a Tamil film.
“Yes, I have signed the film and will start shooting for it from next week in Hyderabad. Bad boys seem to be in demand and it looks like playing a baddie is the ‘in’ thing right now! This apart, as an actor, I feel the constant urge to experiment. And this film presented me with the perfect opportunity to do so,” Aditya says.
Not wanting to be stereotyped anymore the actor says that his next Kannada film with director Ravi Srivatsa will also, surprisingly, not be an underworld saga. “Together we have delivered hits, and every time people expect us to come back together for an underworld subject based film. But this time we will stay away from that subject. It will be an action packed film but we are yet to finalise the script. The film will go on floors only in October,” he informs us.
His film with director Satya is going to be no less different is what he tells us. “I will be playing a dual role in the film. From the invitation card that will announce the launch of the film to the story and eventually my character, everything about this film will be unique. I was supposed to do Dasa and then Gooli with Satya but somehow things didn’t fall into place then. Now that we are coming together, the film is going to be big,” he enthuses.
But before he starts work on these projects, he has the release of Edegaarike to look forward to. The novel-based flick is being directed by Sumana Kittur, while Rebel, Rascal and Khaki are his other films still under production.
