Tiger Shroff on what fitness means to him — being happy and being able to move how he wants to!

Tiger Shroff is known to have one of the leanest, meanest and best bodies in B-Town. And like his father Jackie Shroff, he follows a strict regimen of working out and controlling his diet, but while Sr Shroff is a vegetarian, Junior is not.

In fact, for his debut movie, Tiger underwent motion and flexibility training which included front pike, wall flips and leaps and 360 degree-backward twist.

Here, Tiger shares secrets about his physique, fitness and looking fabulous...

The fitness high

“Being fit and healthy is difficult but not impossible. I maintain my body by being extremely disciplined about what I eat almost all the time. Fitness has a different meaning to each one. For me, it is about being happy and being able to move however you want to. Being fit gives me a different high to be able to do that. I always follow three essential principles of fitness: Sleep eight hours a day, eat clean and fast once a week.”

How I keep fit

“I keep fit in various ways. I do dance or kickboxing or gymnastics in the morning and weight training in the evening is my go-to fitness regime on most days unless I am working on something specific for a film. I love taking long runs and I also enjoy playing football or basketball every once in a while. In fact, when I was in school, I was more active in these sports than academics.”

Promotion of fitness

“Though I have never run a marathon before, I have heard about the DNA iCan Women’s Half Marathon. I think it is a great initiative. I would like to congratulate the DNA team for putting together this event. Fitness should be an important part of every person and there should be more and more ways to promote fitness, health and one’s overall well being.”
