Anushka Sharma is very much on Facebook, but she says that she doesn’t accept too many friend requests there.
“Yes, one of the Anushka Sharma’s out there is me and I use that account only to network with my friends. You will not find me accepting too many friend requests, because I really don’t want to use that account for anything except to connect with my close friends,” she says admitting that the fake Anushka Sharmas on the Facebook have more friends than her. “Now you go and figure out who the real Anushka Sharma is,” she adds with a smirk.
The actor who plays a wedding a planner in her forthcoming film, says that she enjoyed playing a Punjabi kudi. “There is a widely accepted misconception about me that I hail from Punjab. May be, it is because I look very Punjabi, but I am actually from Bengaluru and very proudly so. But I guess that my persona is very much like a Punjabi kudi and that is exactly what you will see me playing in my next movie,” she says.
About the film, she adds, “Though Band, Baaja, Baarat is about the life of a young couple who play wedding-planners, it is very much a young love story set in Delhi,” she says.
Sharma reveals that she spent a lot of time perfecting her accent for a typical Delhi Punjabi girl. “Punjabis have a typical accent and it was very important for me to perfect that. Just notice carefully and you will find that they don’t complete the sentence or a few words and they really speak very fast. It took some time to perfect that accent, but I think that I have been able to do it well,” she says.
She also adds that she doesn’t feel any pressure weighing down her shoulders, since she is the only known star in the film. “I have never taken life very seriously. If it happens (if the film becomes a hit) then it will happen, but I am not going to sit there and stress myself over it. If the storyline is good and the acting is up to the mark, then everybody will love the film. So, this time I am going to leave it up to the audience,” she ends.
