Two weeks more and she would have been among the finalists, but Kamya Punjabi, who many thought was playing a good game, is out. “Yes, after all it’s a game,” she quips. For her staying in the house for two months would have been a big achievement. “But I completed three months!” she exclaims. Nevertheless, she has mixed feelings about her eviction. “I am a little emotional because I am out and also because I will be going back home,” says the actress who will meet her daughter after three months.
Kamya along with Sangram Singh broke the Big Brother record by living in a box for close to 41 hours. Ask her what was her motivation and she says it was to prove a point to Sangram. “During one of the earlier tasks between Elli and Sangram, he had said if he has to compete with a girl he would rather leave the task. I had told him then that he shouldn’t consider a girl to be weak or inferior and I proved that,” smiles Kamya. More than anything the task, she says, helped her understand herself better. “I never knew I would be able to do such a task. In fact, being in Bigg Boss has been a learning experience. It brings you face-to-face with your inner self,” says the actress who claims to have become mentally and physically stronger. “I have been handling things alone since the past 10-12 years, and in the house too I was alone despite living with so many people,” she says. Ask her about her relationship with her estranged husband Bunty and she says, “It’s the best. We respect each other and are good friends. We go out with our daughter and spend time together because our separation shouldn’t affect her,” says the concerned mother.
In the Bigg Boss house, the onscreen vamp (Kamya has played negative role in several serials) was accused of instigating fights, by several contenstants. But Kamya refuses to be drawn into it.
“People are entitled to their opinion. As far as I am concerned I was upfront, straight-forward and never talked about people behind their backs. In short, I was being myself,” clarifies Kamya. She herself had some major fights with Andy and Armaan Kohli. “Yes, but nobody is bad. It’s the situations that make people behave the way they do. Andy and I are good friends and our relationship went through a lot of ups and downs. When Andy comes out, we will meet and do a lot of masti,” is all that Kamya is willing to say, quite unlike the fiesty nature she displayed in the house.
So, who according to her will win the show? “I would like either Tanishaa or Gauahar (Khan) to walk away with the honour, simply because I want a girl to win,” smiles Kamya.
