Starting out as a marketing executive, Sandhya Mridul went on to find her true calling as an actress. Be it television, theatre or films, she has tested all media and has become known to pick roles with substance.

She became popular with her performances in serials like ‘Swabhimaan’, ‘Banegi Apni Baat’, ‘Koshish’ and ‘Hu Ba Hu’, ‘Extra Innings’ during the cricket World Cup 2003 and ‘Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin’.

She has always opined that television is monotonous and boring, so it had to be an adventure reality show that would bring her back to the small screen. Being an adventure junkie herself, Sandhya will host ‘Paisa Bhari Padega’ (Sony).

Produced by FBC Media, the series is shot the picturesque city of Hrishikesh in Uttar Pradesh. The show will be a platform for the contestants to prove not only their physical but also their mental prowess.

‘It is very challenging, besides adventure and nature together is a great stress buster and release for me. The main reason why I decided to go ahead with the show is because of my passion and zeal towards adventure sports, added with the fact that the organisers not only found me fit to participate, but also to host the show. ” says Sandhya on why she accepted the offer.

Sandhya has completed shooting for the first six celebrity episodes, which will aid the launch of the show among the Indian audiences. She reached the venue of the shoot a few days ahead to take part in tasks that the participants will undertake.

“I came down here a bit before the actual shoot is scheduled, to complete in some of the adventure tasks like water rafting, sailing, trekking, grappling etc, as I not only host the episodes but also guide them at various stages of the race with various decisions that they need to take amidst different situations in the show.” enthuses Sandhya.

“The experience leaves all those who participate with a triumphant and confident feeling as if one is ready to return and conquer. But, I have to warn you that the show is definitely not for the soft hearted people,” says Sandhya with a grin.

Sandhya’ first big project in Bollywood was the film ‘Saathiya’.  With time realising that she is more suited to offbeat, crossover films rather than hardcore, commercial cinema, she was seen in a spate of unusual roles in ‘Waisa Bhi Hota Hai’, ‘Kuchh Meetha Ho Jaye’ and ‘Page 3’.  “I am geared up for the upcoming thriller flick ‘Deadline’ opposite Irrfan Khan and Konkana Sen,” quips Sandhya.
