This Bollywood actress will now endorse the ‘Cinema for Care’ section at the upcoming All Lights India International Film Festival (ALIIFF) slated to open from November 15 at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Kalki Koechlin will now be brand ambassador for a thematic showcase called ‘Cinema for Care’.
A report in The New Indian Express states that ALIIFF will have six famous people who have a large fanbase to represent various sections. The brand ambassadors chosen by the organisers of ALIIFF are as follows: Mohan Lal (Malayalam Cinema), Kamal Hassan (Tamil Cinema), Daggubati Venkatesh (Telugu Cinema) Prosenjit Chatterjee (Bengali Cinema), SubodhBhave (Marathi Cinema). Malayalam actress Manju Warrier has been chosen as the brand ambassador for Cinema for Women section while it’s Kalki for the Cinema for Care section.
UNESCO is the patron and authoritative endorser of ‘Cinema for Care’ section, says the report. The Cinema for Care section will create awareness about disability issues that Kalki has been trying to highlight through various other events earlier. This awareness will be created through films.
Kalki's portrayal of a person with cerebral palsy in her film ‘Margarita with a Straw’ has made them zero in on her as brand ambassador apparently. This section is aimed at creating awareness on disability, how disabilities can be overcome and how people with disabilities must be integrated into society.
