FIR, the humourous crime show has seen some drastic changes in recent times. After experimenting with a new woman cop Jwalamukhi (Chitrashi Rawat) the show went back to its original cast bringing back Chandramukhi Chautala (Kavita Kaushik).
However, the show that suffered a setback during the transition is now striving to get back to its original positioning. In a move towards that, a male lead opposite Chandramukhi is being introduced. Vipul Roy, who has anchored several reality shows including Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Ghar Ghar Mein will be playing the romantic lead as inspector Bhola Pandit. Says Vipul, “The show has been revolving around Kavita’s character and it will be a huge challenge to play the lead opposite her.” Ask him if his cop is modelled on Salman Khan’s in Dabangg and Vipul retorts that the character has been portrayed in several films but is nothing like Salman’s cop.
“Bhola is like Soorma Bhopali who bluffs about his conquests and is actually scared to his wits. I wanted to play a whacky character and this fits the bill. Also my family follows this show,” smiles Vipul who had done a serial Chehra with Mohit ‘Mahadev’ Raina a couple of years ago. His entry in FIR will see him being misunderstood as a thug by Chandramukhi, only to later discover that he is a senior inspector appointed in her chowki! Naturally sparks will fly between the two!
