It has been only couple of days since we got the first trailer of The Lego Batman Movie. But just like I said before, there cannot be enough Batman. And the Lego version agrees. So we have a second trailer in a week!
This time, the billionaire vigilante is not beatboxing as he introduces us, 'uber-nerd fans,' to the trailer. Just because the Twitterverse was buzzing with the first trailer, we get a second one. "When you are as super as me, you don't just get one trailer, you get two trailers in one week," says the Will Arnett-voiced Caped Crusader.
In the new trailer, we get a good look of gloomy Wayne Manor. (Lobster Thermidor has been dealt with it seems!). In the manor, Alfred Pennyworth, voiced by Ralph Fiennes, finds Batman talking to old family portraits, wishing his parents were here to be proud of him. Alfred asks after Batman with concern for his sad state, and then lists all the flashbacks through all the Batman movies ever, in which he is doing the exact same thing!
.
This is how the plot goes - There are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.
Apart from Will Arnett who is reprising his role as Batman after the Oscar-nominated The Lego Movie and Ralph Fiennes, Rosario Dawson (Batgirl), Michael Cera (Robin), Zach Galifianakis (Joker), and Mariah Carey (Gotham’s mayor, Marion Grange) make the rest of the cast.
Phil Lord and Chris Miller, of The Lego Movie are producing the film along with Dan Lin and Roy Lee. The script is written by Seth Grahame-Smith and the movie is directed by Chris McKay.
Lego Batman Movie will release on February 10, 2017.
