Battling from malaria, Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole looked on her way back to health after she was spotted at a Starbucks coffee shop.

The 27-year-old singer left home only for 15 minutes when she was driven to the coffee shop on the A3 near Guildford, Surrey.

Cheryl looked pale but cheerful wearing jeans, flip-flops, and a white jumper as she went inside to buy a chilled Frappuccino.

"Her driver was at her side every step of the way. She spoke to the manager and the staff, who seemed to know her pretty well," The Sun quoted an onlooker as saying.

"She only spent a few minutes inside. While there she signed an Aids petition and put money in a Help for Heroes charity tin," he said.

This was the first time Cheryl came out in the public after being struck with malaria.

"She will not be going back to work for a few weeks, but everyone is pleased she's up and about,' said Cheryl's spokesperson.
