Cricketer S Sreesanth, who is currently playing for Preity Zinta’s King’s XI Punjab in South Africa, says that he is inundated with calls from a mobile number where a female voice on the other end is pleading with him to “forgive her and love her back”. He claims that he has also received similar text messages too. So, is it just a co-incidence that just a few days back, a Mumbai-based struggling starlet Daisy Bopanna revealed that Sreesanth proposed to her on SMS?
“Who is she? Please understand that she is a non-entity for me. Moreover, she is definitely not Angelina Jolie that I am going to remember her face. I didn’t even recollect her face when I was told that I had proposed to her. A few days later, I started receiving these weird calls. I have stopped receiving any calls from unknown numbers,” says the cricketer from South Africa.
But is it true that he wanted to date Daisy after he met her? “I don’t think that I would stoop so low that I have to date an unknown, struggling actor. I am shocked at these allegations. I don’t want anybody to use me as a tool for publicity. This is such a cheap stunt. I am very much single and have enough issues at hand to concentrate on rather than send love messages to somebody who’s a nobody,” he adds. “Moreover, I have a habit of not saving any number on my mobile phone and I never had her number on my phone. Right now, I’m just concentrating on my game.”
Though Sreesanth couldn’t remember where he had seen Daisy, his business manager Sonu Lakhwani says, “This girl (Daisy) was just a model on the sets where Sree was busy chatting with his fellow team-mates Virender Sehwag, Ishant Sharma and Mahendra Singh Dhoni during the shoot. It was a soft drink ad that was shot in Mumbai and Sree flew back to Bangalore on the same day. He never spoke to the girl barring a few cursory exchanges.”
