Ragini MMS director Pravan Kriplani is back with another spine-chilling thriller in Darr @ The Mall.

As the title suggests, the film's premise is a mall haunted by spirits which have killed nine people.

The trailer starts with a voiceover narrating the bloody history of the mall and an unsuspecting Jimmy Shergil, who plays a security agent, taking on the duty of ensuring order in the mall during a special party hosted in the haunted mall.

The trailer goes on to show how Shergil's mundane job turns into a nightmare as he stumbles upon long-buried secrets and is forced to face the ghosts of the past, literally.

The film also has a bunch of youngsters out to have a good time, who end up getting trapped inside the mall, and face the ire of a malevolent spirit.

While the trailer has similarities with Hollywood flick Mirrors (the protagonists play security guards in both films), it bears a stronger resemblance to the plot of Vikram Bhatt's Horror Story.

Having said that, Darr @ The Mall is anyday a better pick as compared to Bhatt's film. The premise, though not new, looks interesting and the director manages to hold the attention of the viewers with the gripping narrative.

Apart from Shergil, the film has a promising cast of talented actors like Arif Zakaria, Asif Basra, Nivedita Bhattacharya and Nusrat Bharucha of Pyaar Ka Panchnama fame.

While the trailer manages to evoke interest in the movie, it remains to be seen if the director has done justice to the resources at his disposal.

Here is a look the latest from Kriplani's stable. Do let us know what you think of the trailer. The film is set to hit the screens on February 21.
