Bollywood calling:
Ambition and dreams should come naturally to a person and make him or her smile. What is the point in forcefully putting a dream into one’s head? If it has to happen, it will. My landing up in Mumbai was a surprise in itself. I was studying in New Delhi when I auditioned for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, got shortlisted and came here two-and-a-half-years ago. Since then, life has changed and how!

Dream role:

When something’s pre-destined to happen, it does. Now if you ask me about my dream, it has to be a musical. A complete dance-and-drama film. It is something that I feel I can do a complete justice to. I am also trained in Kathak, Jazz and Salsa, and Contemporary dance is something I love.

Family ties:
My parents are my life support. I belong to a very traditional, religious, academically -inclined Bengali family. When I decided to come to Mumbai, they were shocked. For them, things like dancing and acting could only be hobbies and not a career. They were very, very upset about my decision but again, parents are parents, they always forgive and forget. So now that I’m happy and fit in this city, they are happy too.
