The teaser of Malayalam version of 'Drishyam 2' has been unveiled. The film features superstar Mohanlal in the lead role and despite the tough challenge, the actor manages to impress with just eight seconds of frame time in the 'Drishyam 2' teaser.
The actor has been part of the megahit franchise, which was also remade in Hindi with Ajay Devgn, Sriya Saran and Tabu in the lead roles. The films (Malayalam as well as Hindi) were directed by Nishikant Kamat. Unfortunately, the director died on August 17, 2020 and thus, had to be replaced in the franchise.
Jeethu Joseph, who had made his Bollywood debut with Emraan Hashmi-Rishi Kapoor-Shobhita Dhulipalia starring 'The Body', is now the director for 'Drishyam 2'. It now remains to be seen whether the second installment of 'Drishyam' will also be adapted, and if Jeethu remains on board for the remake too, like the original film.

The movie, which resumed shooting in September is now completed with a few scenes left to finalize. Mohanlal has joined the sets on September 25. He joined the sets and promised to have taken all precautionary measures. The actor took to Instagram and shared an image of him with the team from the sets. "Joined at the sets of #Drishyam2 by adhering to all safety protocols set for Covid 19," he posted.
The film is shot in Kochi. The cast and crew reportedly underwent a COVID-19 test before joining the sets. 'Drishyam 2', which was announced on Mohanlal's birthday (May 21) was going to commence on August 17, but was delayed due to unforseeable situations.

After 'Drishyam 2: The Resumption', Jeetu Jospeh and Mohanlal are also likely to collaborate for another project called 'Ram'.
