The Constant Gardener
Rating: ****

Terrific stuff for viewers of political exposes. Adapted from John Le Carre’s 2001 bestseller, the script exposes the international pharmaceutical giants and government bureaucracies – Western and African – which support the use of Third World as guinea pigs.

A diplomat in Africa gets to the nub of the matter while investigating the murder of his wife.

In the central roles, Ralph Fiennes and Rachel Weisz are extraordinary.

The topical, eye-opener of a movie was shot in Kenya by director Fernando Meirelles, who earlier gave you the Oscar-nominated City of God. A should-see.
