Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal’s wedding on December 12 promises to be an extravagant affair soaked in Rajasthani customs.
The pre-wedding ceremonies, which will begin on December 8, will reportedly take place at the Oberoi Udaivilas, a lakeside property in Udaipur. The day’s key event will be held at the jetty located behind the hotel, with a slew of well-known personalities in attendance.
SECURITY RAMPED UP
Although the lavish wedding invite went viral on social media a few days ago, the guest list is yet to be revealed. According to sources close to the family, the invitees include a mix of celebrities and politicians. Security has been amped up in the city due to the preceding polls. Apparently, the Ambanis have booked around 10 hotels in Udaipur for their high-profile guests, including plush properties like The Leela Palace, Trident and City Palace.
A RAJASTHANI PADLA
For one of Isha’s pre-wedding ceremonies, which was held at the Ambani’s Mumbai residence, the Piramals sent a Rajasthani padla for the bride-to-be. A part of an important Rajput custom, it comprises dresses, jewellery and accessories sent by the groom’s family that are worn by the bride on the wedding day. Since the Piramals hail from a Rajasthani background, all the ceremonies are influenced by the desert state.
