On Saturday, actor Paul Walker passed away after his car was involved in a crash in Santa Clarita, California, his representative confirmed to the media.
Walker was 40 and acted in the famous Fast And The Furious film franchise as Brian O'Conner.
TMZ reported that the actor was in a Porsche when the driver somehow lost control of the vehicle. It then slammed into either a post or a tree and then burst into flames and exploded.
"Sadly, I must confirm that Paul did pass away this afternoon in a car accident," Ame Van Iden, Walker's publicist, said in an email.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a statement that two people were killed in a car accident in Valencia, a community in the city of Santa Clarita, at about
3:30 p.m. (6:30 p.m. ET).
Deputies arriving at the scene found the vehicle engulfed in flames. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene, the statement said. The office did not provide the identities of the dead, and said the cause was under investigation.
