The Anurag-Prerna love lore will end in Jan’ 2008 reports Sapana Patil-Poojary
After several rounds of rumours of the ‘Prerna-Anurag’ epic going off the air, ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’ (Star Plus) is finally expected to draw the curtains in January 2008.
A source says, “The show had started losing its zing. Most lead actors had started dropping out of the serial one by one. Plus, Shweta Tiwari’s (Prerna) personal issues had started affecting her professionally. She also seemed to have lost interest in the show. She started taking up other assignments thus ignoring ‘Kasautii…’.” The show got its first blow when Cezanne Khan quit. Actors’ Moon, Geetanjali Tikekar and Urvashi Dholakia’s intermittent disappearances from the show spoilt it further.
January 14 is believed to be the last episode. It will be most likely replaced by Balaji Telefilms’ ‘Karlo Sapne Poore’, a story of four girls who come to Mumbai to achieve their dreams.
However, when contacted, producer Ekta Kapoor, said, “It is not true at all.” What about ‘Karlo Sapne Poore’? “That’s for a new channel,” she asserted.
But GM and EVP of Star Plus, Keertan Adyanthaya reveals, “Yes, sometimes good things come to an end. But on our channel they get better. We will be coming up with some great new programs, so keep watching this space.”
‘Kasautii…’ has been running since five years.
