Stylist Rakhi Parekh Patil has worked on Bipasha Basu’s look for the movie Freeze; this is the first time she has worked in a Bollywood flick. We check out her style
h_rashmi@dnaindia.netClad in a green top and low waist jeans, Rakhi opened doors to her world, literally. A freelance stylist, she has been in the fashion industry for about six years, but is now styling Bipasha Basu for her first Bollywood movie, Freeze.
“I have worked with Bipasha before for a magazine’s cover shoot and we clicked. She liked my style and asked me if I would want to style for a movie. I was a little apprehensive but after a couple of meetings with her, I agreed.”
So, are we going to see the sultry actor in some sizzling short outfits?
“Bipasha plays the role of a DJ, so her look is minimal, contemporary and modern. There is a lot of customisation in her style. For instance, her bag flaunts charms and badges.
“Even her music case has a personal element. Her character is of a street-smart girl and so is her dressing. She is wearing loose low waist pants and shorter tops. In terms of colours, the look is of neuron greens, pinks, fuschia. However, they are blended with neutrals too, so it doesn’t hurt the eye,” she says.
To add some more fierce individualistic style to Bipasha, Rakhi has treated her hair differently.
“She will be seen in shoulder length hair and the edges of the hair have violet colour on them. It’s a side-fringe, something that didn’t need a lot of blow drying. The hair style is quick, easy to do and very cool.”
So does she think that this trend would catch up with the audiences after the release of the movie.
On an optimistic note, Rakhi says, “Yes. I even think that the loose pants and
customisation will hit well with the masses.”
She goes on to add, “As the movie progresses, the look gets somber.”
