At a time when biopics have turned tables around, it was expected that a film will be made on the lives of Bengali superstars Uttam Kumar and Suchitra Sen. Of all the glamour, glitz, pomp and fervour, it will be magical to see their stories come alive on screen. But Tollywood has a different take on the same. It's not a film, but producers Shri Venkatesh Films are coming up with an amazing tele series called Mahanayak, based on the life of Uttam Kumar.
And guess who's playing Uttam Kumar on the show? Prosenjit Chatterjee. The first look of the show is out and Bumbada seems to have nailed it to perfection. The photoshoot is an example of how weel Prosenjit has understood the skin of the character. For anyone to play a real life character in a biopic, looking like the person is of utmost importance. And that is where Prosenjit has hit the ball out of the park!
Also, along with Prosenjit, actresses Tanushree and Paoli Dam will be seen playing pivotal roles in the tele series. While Tanushree's character is modeled on Supriya Devi's life, Paoli's character is loosely inspired from the life of Suchitra Sen.
The team has started shooting for the tele series from January and will soon start airing on Star Jalsha. But as of now, the novel concept has definitely bowled us over!
