From black magic to 'impure blood': 12 outrageous claims Adhyayan made about ex Kangana

The latest shots in the Kangana-Hrithik battle comes from her ex Adhyayan Suman in a long, long interview (over 4000 words) which had so much information that it was practically half the internet on the day it was published. The fight so far seems to have been influenced by a host of movies including Fight Club (imaginary friend), Gone Girl (crazy wife/girlfriend) and ironically Mujhse Dosti Karoge (fake letter writer). 

Seriously, we really didn’t expect any more revelations in this Queen v/s Krrish battle which was looking like it was moving towards a truce. But then, out of the blue, there dropped this interview which was packed with more information than anything I’ve read since 1984.

We should proceed with the disclaimer that all of us tend to over-exaggerate the deficiencies of our exes after the love goggles come off.

In this extensive interview, Adhyayan Suman accuses Kangana of physical and mental abuse, of possibly mixing menstrual blood in his food, constant torture, jealousy of his ‘success’ and using black magic on him, which he says he was warned about by his family pandit and his tarot card reader. No one we’re not making any of this up.

FYI, this isn’t the first time Adhyayan has made claims about Kangana. In 2009, he called her a nice "distraction". In 2011, he claimed he had introduced Kangana to Paris Hilton and that she only knew how to use, abuse and throw.

He identified with Hrithik’s pain

Adhyayan Suman claims that he understood Hrithik’s pain (which seems weird if Hrithik never dated her, so we assume the pain refers to being ‘traumatised’ by Kangana). He went on to add: “The news channels are talking about me and Kangana again. You know how reluctant I was to talk on this as I felt that even if I speak, would people believe me.”

But he didn’t "take sides"

Adhyayan said he wasn’t taking sides, but then he added: “I hope the truth comes out. My sympathies are majorly with him and his family. I can imagine what they must be going through. I am not taking sides or saying that he’s right and she’s wrong, but I feel someone should speak up for Hrithik. It doesn’t come from a space where I will be doing a film with him tomorrow (laughs) and I am sure neither is he going to produce my film, but this is for people who will start commenting on social media — I don’t want anything from Hrithik. I want to work hard on my own.”

Of course, the "not taking sides" bit gets negated by the rest of the interview.

She left him hanging a lot

First time around, she left him at the Taj while saying she’d gone to the bathroom. When he turned up to placate her the next day she told him, “F*** off! It’s over." Adhyayan then made his dad call her and in his own words "made him beg for a very long time" and made him wait five hours on her steps. This continually happened time and again in the relationship.

Fast and Furiosa

Another bizarre moment from the interview was about cars. So happy was Shekar Suman with the first cut of Jashn on December 31, 2008, that he got his son a surprise gift on his birthday, a BMW 7 series. Adhayayan adds, "this wasn’t about a father spoiling his son, but a father who had seen the work of his son and was proud of him.”

It was allegedly around the time she had won the National Award for Best Supporting Actress. According to Adhyayan, so miffed was Kangana with the gift that she went to Hyderabad and signed a film with Prabhas called Ek Niranjan and booked the same car. He quotes her as saying: “Achcha? Really? They gifted you a one crore car?Aisa kya ukhada tumne life mein?”

He adds: "Kangana couldn’t take it that I had a car she couldn’t afford. There were stories in newspapers about how she had bought the same car as me, etc. This was two months before our break-up. Later, I sold off my car because of the pressure of failure.” Cars would return in this relationship.

She physically and mentally abused

He has accused of physically and mentally abusing him. He said, "The physical violence had become so frequent in my relationship with her that any other guy would have hit her back."

Here is one of the several instances he described: “We were headed to an event when she started abusing my father in filthy language. That day something snapped in me. Hearing her abuse my father and still being by her side every night was something that shamed me. After we split, it took me five years to get over that guilt. I was a bad kid to my parents and that’s something I can’t forgive myself for. Everything else was a learning experience. I remember Kangana physically abusing me in the car again. When we reached the hotel, in front of the media she was so normal. It was like interacting with a split personality. On one hand it was MC/BC and on the other it was ‘Baby I love you so much.”

He dealt with it by drunk driving down Marine Drive

Adhyayan claims he dealt with this by crying to his PR and getting drunk all the time. "I would drive down Marine Drive with a bottle of scotch on my lap, drunk. " 

He added: “I got into a phase where I could not accept reality and thought it was better to be perpetually drunk all the time. I had reached a stage where I would have either died because of an overdose of alcohol or gone mental.”

Then came black magic

The interview entered truly bizarre territory with claims about black magic. Kangana allegedly took Adhyayan to an astrologer called Pallavi who always gave her positive news and him bad ones. Though he didn’t believe all this, he says Kangana insisted he listen and he came to her place to do puja at night in a room which was covered in black, with ‘some random statues of God, fire all around, some scary things (kept)’.

She proceeded to lock him in, but he didn’t do the puja and lied to her that he did. The same astrologer also told him to go to the graveyard at midnight to throw certain things, which "chilled him to the bone".

Which he was warned about by a tarot reader

This "metropolitan kid who studied in London and New York" and kept away from "things like astrology and black magic" was told by his tarot reader that a woman from a pahadi region was doing black magic on him. The tarot card reader further warned him about "something bad happening". The non-superstitious lad added: “My career stopped completely. I had a successful film Raaz 2 behind me but nobody wanted to talk about me. I started seeing this decline. My films were shutting down while she was achieving more success. Even talking about it scares me now.”

And a pandit who knows his food

Then entered the family pandit (priest) who told him that he apparently deducted: “Apna impure blood milati hai khaane mein black magic ke liye.” One is reading between the lines here and assumes impure blood means menstrual flow, which hints perhaps at the continuing battle. The same pandit would return on Salman’s Dus Ka Dum and reportedly tell Kangana that her “Kundali had a demoness".

Adhyayan refers to this and says, "My mom prayed a lot for me. The same Pandit, later on, came on Salman’s Dus Ka Dum also and he looked at Kangana in the middle of the show and said, “Aap Pisachini (demoness) hai.” She treated it as if it was a joke. It’s there on national TV.”

The Hrithik Infatuation

The interview goes on to claim that Kangana’s fascination with Hrithik started when they were shooting Kites together. Adhyayan claims he discovered 50-70 messages sent by her to the actor. He adds that Hrithik always maintained his distance and says "that as a guy" he could see Hrithik wasn’t interested at all.

He said: “She said that he was her co-star and she had to talk to him like that. She made me believe that all those texts to him were casual. And I could believe that because whenever I met Hrithik and her together, he always maintained his distance. As a guy you can see it when there’s something brewing between two people especially when they are drinking and the masks come off. I never saw any feelings from his side. So, these stories about Kangana’s obsession with him had begun back then of her wanting to get him. Those messages made me realise that I had to get out of this relationship and fast.”

He does not talk about what the content of the messages was.

She abused his parents a lot

Not happy with just abusing him, Adhyayan alleges that Kangana would verbally abuse his parents a lot. This didn’t deter his parents from begging her to come back to him which made him realise that "our parents are the most important people in our lives".

The Break-Up

Adhyayan says they broke up when Shekhar Suman was going into politics. At the time, he claims Kangana said, “Tumhara pura khandaan mere stardom ko use karna chahta hai? (Your entire family wants to use my stardom.)" In the end, he claims that his friends told him she just wanted "respectability" and dated someone from a "respectable Bollywood family" for it.

Even taking cognitive dissonance reduction into account (CDR refers to an individual’s tendency to seek consistency in their beliefs and to twist reality to suit their beliefs), the interview doesn’t make for pleasant reading and many of the accusations are disturbing, to say the least. If these claims are true, then Kangana should have been reported for abuse and sought counselling for the rest. On the other hand, if they are untrue or exaggerated claims, Kangana Ranaut definitely needs to drag Adhyayan Suman to court for fabricating some truly horrible things about her. Before this is done and dusted, one would really want to hear Kangana’s version of events.
