Brazil President Lula da Silva says RRR is 'deep critique of British control over India', heaps praise on SS Rajamouli

The Brazilian Pesident Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who is currently in India for the G20 summit, says he enjoyed the humour and dance sequences in RRR.

Starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR and directed by SS Rajamouli, India's first Oscar-winning full-length feature-film RRR continues to earn praises even after more than a year of its theatrical release in March 2022. Now, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who is currently in India for the G20 Summit, has heaped praise on the action drama.

The social media team of RRR shared the part of the clip on their handles and wrote, "Thank you President of Brazil, @LulaOfficial for your kind words on #RRRMovie. Our entire team is elated with your applause", and added a red emoji. The clip has gone viral on social media with netizens once again calling RRR "the true global phenomenon from Indian cinema."

In the clip, the Brazilian President can be heard saying, "RRR, it is a three hour feature film and it has really funny scenes with beautiful dance in the film. There is a deep critique to British control over India and Indians. I sincerely believe this film should have been a blockbuster all around the world because everybody that talk to me, the first thing that I say is, have you watched the thee hour film Revolt Rebellion and Revolution? So,I congratulate the director and artists of the film because it enchanted me."

Reacting to the video, one netizen wrote, "With the global reach and success of RRR, it's almost certain that Rajamouli sir's next film will achieve a monumental opening day of 300 crore rupees or more", while another added, "#RRRMovie Face of Indian Cinema. From the past 500+ days, RRR is not leaving any opportunity to feel us proud."

With a gross worldwide box office collection of over Rs 1300 crore, RRR is the third highest-grossing Indian film of all time behind Aamir Khan-starrer and Nitesh Tiwari's sports drama Dangal (Rs 2024 crore) and SS Rajamouli's own period action drama Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 1810 crore).
