It's the birthday of Lord Ganesha today which is celebrated widely as Ganesh Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chaturthi. As we celebrate the auspicious occasion, we can't help but acknowledge how Bollywood movies have added their own flavour to the festivities and given us a number of songs to celebrate the joyous occasion.

So here are our top picks from Bollywood songs that add to the zeal and enthusiasm with which the festival is celebrated:

1) Ganpati Bappa Agle Baras (Aasoo Bane Angaarey)

This song aptly describes the emotions of thousands of devotees as they take their Ganesha to be immersed in water after 1,5 or 11 days and requests him to return to them the next year.

2) Sindoor Laal Dhadayao (Vaastav)

This song adds a typical Marathi flavour to the occasion. It has become quite popular during the evening aarti sessions.

3) Mourya Re (Don)

'Mourya Re' speaks how thousands of devotees wait for Lord Ganesha to arrive every year with hopes in their eyes and enthusiasm in their hearts. We love how the song has been picturised, capturing the Ganpati celebrations in Mumbai

4) Deva Shree Ganesha (Agneepath)

We love the vigour and high octane energy of this song. Sung in various pitches by Ajay Gogawale, this song is a must watch.

5) Bappa (Banjo)

'Bappa' song from Riteish Deshmukh's upcoming flick Banjo is the latest addition to this list. The song has a slight rock feel to it and has quite foot tapping beats.

Honorary mention: Thank God Bappa (featuring Riteish Deshmukh), Gajanana (Bajirao Mastani), Jalwa (Wanted), Ga Ga Ga Ganpati (ABCD) and Hey Ganraya (ABCD 2)
