This festival is one of a kind, where two different genres of art, films and literature have been brought together.

Bollywood's veteran director Subhash Ghai and award-winning director Sudhir Mishra graced the Gurgaon International Film and Literature Festival (GIFLIF) in the Delhi.

This festival is one of a kind, where two different genres of art, films and literature have been brought together and various talk sessions will lay the emphasis on their (films and literature) relationship. Talking about the importance of having such an event, Sudhir Mishra said, "It is important to have such events in today's scenario because people are discussing at a stretch about what to be expressed and what should not be vocalised. It is the job of the films, historians and literature to talk about everything and if they don't complete their job, their minds' horizon sort of gets limited. So, an open mind and such events are much required at this point of time."

Adding to Sudhir, Subhash Ghai said, "I believe film and literature are a form of storytelling, however, in literature, one can experience a lot more than what a film showcases. Cinema is visual and literature is a written form of expression and the blend of both is very important to make a movie which is of an international caliber." Adding. " Getting influenced by the modern movie making techniques or adapting the entire story, forgetting what our own literature or our history has to offer, will not make you anything because a cinema is a cultural ambassador of your country and if you ignore it, where will you go?"

Sheddingt some light on how the festival is different from other films and literature festivals, the founder and organiser of the event, Kumar Amit Sinha said, "Every festival is limited however we are taking this festival to five different places- Shillong, Kutch, Kanyakumari, Kashmir and Nalanda. At the same time, will produce 20 movies, have an outcome presentation which would let people know what happened after the respective session and an e-magazine as well.?

The festival, which kickstarted in Delhi on December 4, will have more than 40 known faces as its panel for various discussions, will showcase 1764 films from all around the globe and will conclude on December 6.
