Goa is India’s hottest party destination - there is no questioning that! During the season (Nov-Mar) the world seems to converge in the sunshine state, especially when it comes to the biggest party night of the year - December 31.
Whether they’re actors, socialites, business tycoons or politicians, the destination for welcoming 2006 is Goa.
The list of Bollywood stars expected to head there includes the Khans - Shah Rukh, Salman, along with brother Sohail and their families, Arjun Rampal with wife Mehr Jessia and their two kids and Chunky and Bhavna Pandey.
Politician, businessman and the Indian Olympic Association president Suresh Kalmadi is also said to have booked rooms for the same period. Gautam Singhania and Dr Naresh Trehan - of the Escorts Hospital, New Delhi - are the other names that make up the list.
For the celebrities, the most sought after rooms in the party city are at the Goa Marriott, Taj Fort Aguada’s cottages and Taj Holiday village.
“Most celebs book rooms for New Year’s at least six months in advance or else it becomes very tough to get any accommodation,” says a hotel employee. So, if you are in the mood for some star spotting, you know where to go!
