Actor John Travolta has pulled out of the media promotions of his upcoming film 'The Taking of Pelham 123" as he struggles to cope with the death of his son Jett. Travolta's co-star in the film, Denzel Washington will promote the film alone.
The star's 16-year-old son died in January this year after suffering a seizure while on a family vacation in the Bahamas, Contactmusic reported. Travolta is still devastated by the tragedy and often breaks down into tears, according to Washington, who has been
speaking to his co-star over the phone.
And the actor has decided not to participate in the promotion of the upcoming remake of the classic 1970s thriller. "One moment he's OK and the next he's in tears...Needless to say, he's struggling. So more than talking to him, I listened to him, for about two or three hours," Washington said about his co-star and friend.
"What can you say, really? Just be there as a friend, because he's such a sweet, sweet person. Our prayers are with he and his wife."
