Gulshan Devaiah opens up on how playing twins in Disney+ Hotstar show Bad Cop was different than playing twins in the 2018 film Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota.

Be it Mandar Ponkshe in Hunterrr or Chaar Cut Aatmaram in Guns & Gulaabs, Gulshan Devaiah has always impressed the audiences with his brilliant performances. Now, the actor has been receiving accolades for the recently released web series Bad Cop. In a candid conversation with DNA, the actor talked about the Disney+ Hotstar show in detail.

On being asked why he signed up for Bad Cop, Gulshan said, "I had worked with Aditya Datt (the director) before in Commando 3, so I was familiar with his style of storytelling. After Dahaad, where I played a very realistic cop, I got opportunity to play another type of cop, a very filmy cop, so I liked the idea of being able to explore this. I was very keen to see how I would interpret the 90s' masala style of storytelling, so I thought it would be a great idea to star in Bad Cop."

Gulshan plays a double role of a cop named Karan and his twin brother, a thief named Arjun in the show. This isn't the first time when the actor has essayed the role of twins as he had earlied played twins in Vasan Bala's 2018 action comedy Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, where one of his character was of the martial arts expert Karate Mani and the other was the film's antagonist Jimmy.

The actor shared how playing twins in the Aditya Datt show was different from playing twins in the Vasan Bala film as he told DNA, "The world building is very different and these are completely different characters. Vasan Bala creates a world of fantasies, while giving you the illusion of being in reality, and Aditya Datt's world is hyper-realistic with action, drama, comedy packed in."

Apart from Gulshan Devaiah, Bad Cop also stars Anurag Kashyap, Harleen Sethi, Saurabh Sachdeva, and Aishwarya Sushmita in the leading roles. The show is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar with new episode dropping each Thursday.
