Gurmeet Choudhary is all set to make his debut on digital platform with an action and adventure series. He will be hosting the reality show, which will have contestants performing some daredevil stunts. Gurmeet, who has been a part of adventure shows like Khatron Ke Khiladi and I Can Do That, can’t wait for the show to begin. He says, “This is the first time that a hard-core action-based series is being made for the web. I love performing stunts, the more dangerous they are, the more I am driven. The best part about the series is that I will be performing each and every stunt before the contestants do it.”
The series will have 12 contestants performing daredevil acts to fulfill their dreams — being a businessman, opening a beauty parlour, etc. After every successful stunt the contestant will be given some prize money and the one who wins the finale will get around `25 lakhs.
Gurmeet will be flying to Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh next week to do a recce. He says, “We will find out which stunts can be performed and how safe they are because safety is my main concern. Since I have done stunts earlier, I have also given my ideas in designing them.”
The actor has plans of shooting the finale in South Africa. “The action masters are big there and during Khatron Ke Khiladi I have done several stunts in Cape Town. So, the idea is to shoot the finale either in Durban or Cape Town,” he enthuses.
Gurmeet was last seen in Wajah Tum Ho, which didn’t do well at the box-office, but the actor is unperturbed. According to him the timing of the film’s release was not right as it came in the middle of demonitisation. “Also, we shifted the release by a week, and all this affected the film. However, the film was promoted well and I am happy with the feedback I got from the industry,” he quips.
Interestingly, while he is known for his dance and action on the small-screen, in films he is yet to showcase that side of him. “Yes, I an itching to do action in movies and waiting for something like that to come my way,” smiles the actor who is already shooting for his next film, the details of which he refuses to divulge.
