On Sunday, Shatrughan Sinha and wife Punam will be celebrating their 26th wedding anniversary. “It seems like an entire lifetime,” says Punam, who dated the actor-politician 14 years before that.
The day will also mark the launch of Shotgun Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. “We are already producing a movie ‘Mera Dil Leke Dekho’. The company will do TV and theatre work, besides organise events.”
While Shatrughan is the brand ambassador of the company, Punam is the CEO, who will look into the daily activities.
“I’m actively involved in everything and have been running around like crazy. I hope God is kind to us and it doesn’t rain heavily on that day.”
Punam has nothing but good things to say about her husband. “He’s been a constant anchor in my life. That our relationship has survived the test of time is the biggest achievement.”
Of course, they do have their fights. “Unlike me, he is very patient and tolerant,” she reveals, adding, “He has mellowed down a lot. There’s an urge in him to make a difference, especially in Bihar, the state where he was born.”
As for the secret to her happy family, she claims it is, “Samjhauta! In every relationship, you have to give and take a little. That apart, you need to respect each other and know your priorities.” r_faheem@dnaindia.net
