Abhijeet Bhattacharya is one of the controversy's favourite child. From his comments on Salman Khan case to his reaction to Rio Olympics and now his spat with journalist Swati Chaturvedi, the ace singer has been in the news recently for all the wrong reasons.
Recently on July 26, the singer was arrested for abusing Swati. Pinkvilla reported, "The police had registered an FIR against the singer after Aam Aadmi Party National Executive Member and Spokesperson Preeti Sharma Menon complained about it. The FIR was filed on charges of public obscenity and outrage of modesty. Menon had tweeted to the police commissioner about the singer’s use of obscene language on social media towards the woman journalist."
Menon also confirmed the same in a series of tweets where she wrote, "“.@mumbaipolice arrested @abhijeetsinger on my complaint on 26/07, released him on bail later. Serves him right… .@abhijeetsinger’s phone confiscated, sent for forensics. Cops made Twitter order him to delete offensive tweets or shut handle."
It was his son who bailed him out of jail, and the singer broke down in tears. But we wonder why this is making news after a month!
