One-and-a-half year after Ek Nayee Pehchaan that dealt with women empowerment, Krystle D'Souza is back on TV, this time with a supernatural show Brahmarakshas-Jaag Utha Shaitaan. And Krystle can't wait for the show to go on air. Five days into the shooting and Krystle has already done a lot of action scenes, running for her life in a jungle, being tied to a tree top and fighting with a rakshas. "Shooting for a TV show has never been so exciting. In a daily soap, the maximum I have run is from the hall to the kitchen," laughs Krystle adding that this is the most challenging role so far, physically and emotionally. "We shoot at real locations, jungles and havelis, where there is no air conditioner and a lot of discomfort," she explains.
Emotionally, she says, after playing the bahu, beti, behna et al, where she has either cried or laughed, this serial, gives her the scope to be spooked and scared. "It gives me adrenaline rush and my heart starts pounding when I see the rakshas, he is so big," she exclaims. Ask her what does she fear otherwise and she quips, "I am a darpok, I get spooked easily. But I fear heights. So, the scene where I was tied to a tree top was scary for me," she adds.
However, that fear is working to her advantage because her character, the bubbly Raina is exactly like her. "My acting will be natural," she smiles.
What does she think of the trend of supernatural shows? "I am glad these kind of shows are being made. I watched a few episodes of Naagin and Kavach because I was doing a supernatural show. Obviously these are not modern shows. Today's generation is familiar with vampire shows, but Indian audience relates to naagins because we have grown up hearing such stories," she says.
The fact that her serial is finite makes her happy. "That makes the series crisp and I am loving it," she says.
