Actor Kay Kay Menon explains his ‘Corporate’ fundas. It is a collage of the corporate world. It deals with various slices of emotions.
‘Corporate’ is about the business of success’
It is a collage of the corporate world. It deals with various slices of emotions and the clashes between emotions and ambition.
‘I am no master of the corporate world’
Though I belong to the creative realm, I have made corporate documentaries. The moment I began shooting for the film, I could understand its tone and smell. The corporate world is driven by ambition, ambition and more ambition.
‘Ambition has to be tempered’
When you follow your goals furiously, you tend to forget life’s deeper meaning. You think that this is the only world. But if you can keep your ambitions tempered, this can be a very exciting place to be in.
‘The plus and minus co-exist here’
The good and the bad are co - related here. If competition is an add-on, it can be a ‘take away’ too. So drawing a limit is vital.
‘Emotions run high here’
If you are too passionate about winning, it would obviously offset a sense of jealousy. If passion takes over pragmatism, it’s bound to cause damage to you and others. You must remember that after all you are dealing with inanimate products! Soccer players are rivals on the field but after the game they exchange t-shirts. One must learn to handle the competition.
‘Every film contributes in an indirect way’
I did gain something by doing this film. It deals with ambition, something I didn’t have. I have inspiration. To portray something that I didn’t have was a challenge.
‘Women excel in matters of the heart and mind’
Women are more capable than men — be it in the corporate or the creative field. They are steadfast, organised and consistent. Apart from physical strength, which is biological, they don’t merely complement men, they excel over them.
‘I believe in gain, not in profit
Profit is related to monetary and material growth. Gain is in kind, it’s beyond money. The film has helped me gain extra sensitivity and understanding. I am happy about looking good in the film too!
