Says playback singer Nakash Aziz about approaching songs, especially Bharat’s Slow Motion, which is based in the 70s

As Salman Khan-starrer Bharat nears it release date, singer Nakash Aziz has much to be excited about as well. The vocalist’s track Slow Motion has reached more than 63 million views on YouTube. Famed for Saree Ke Fall Sa (R... Rajkumar) and more recently First Class (Kalank) among many other numbers, Nakash cannot thank the listeners enough for making his latest release such a rage.

He says, “I was always confident of the song doing well. In fact, it went on to get 38 million views in just three days. The audiences have showered love on not just this track but all my previous songs. Slow Motion is perfect for Salman bhai and he is a huge factor in its success.”

Speaking of Dabangg Khan, the Mera Wala Dance (Simmba) crooner tells us that he didn’t get a chance to meet the superstar while recording the song. “In fact, I got to know that the track will be picturised on him only when I was recording it. I hope he has liked the song since I love singing for him,” he states. The track is set in the 70s but singing a blast-from-the-past number isn’t quite new for him.

“I have sung one in Thugs Of Hindustan’s regional version, so I was quite confident that I could pull it off,” he points out, adding, “I approach each song individually and go with my instinct while singing it rather than preparing. The quirkiness and impulsiveness plays an integral part in making any song foot-tapping.”

About his upcoming releases, Nakash says, “I’m currently working on a couple of things, one of which is Pankaj Kumar Virat’s Naughty Gang. There are a few other things in the pipeline, announcements of which will be done in due course of time.”
