They say the charm of India is beguiling, to say the least. And that was certainly reinforced by Australian actor Nicole Kidman as she stated about her recent India trip, “It was superb!”

A blink-and-you-miss-it sojourn to the Lake City of Udaipur that had Nicole shoot for an ad film with Arjun Rampal, the gorgeous diva who is also one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood and is known to shy away from the paparazzi the world over, said that the experience was one she’d remember for a long time.

“I loved everything…the Taj Lake Palace is beautiful and the butler I had did a wonderful job,” she added. For someone who reportedly loves to travel, the shoot locations – Amrit Sagar, the hotel’s bar with Belgium glass mosaic work, the Mewar Terrace with the panoramic view of Lake Pichola, and the suites with their historic art décor painted ceiling “was magical”.

And it took little to throw the Moulin Rouge star off her routine diet of poached chicken, white egg omelettes, juices and steamed vegetables in favour of the classical Rajasthani wood-fired delights. There was baigan achari, palak chilgoza, varqi paratha, bajri ki roti, maki ki roti served up, among other palate tinglers. “I loved the Padampuri murg,” she said, adding, “I’m going to bring Keith (her husband) here too!”
