Morea on the annual local fest that takes off following the celebration of the feast of Mount Mary.

The annual Mount Mary feast in Bandra today will be followed by week-long revelry, and After Hrs caught up with Bandra boy, actor Dino Morea offering his prayers at the church.

“I am quite a regular at the Mount Mary church and visit it at least twice a month. As for the fest, well, it’s something that I never miss and make sure to visit it once for sure,” reveals Dino. “I feel it’s become way too commercial over the years, but it’s still beautiful and an event that so many of us look forward to each year,” he adds.

As for the mood being sombre post the bomb blasts that shook the Capital on Wednesday, Dino feels that people today are extremely wary and not just about being in crowded places during a fest.

“Be it traveling or simply dining out, nothing is safe and people are extremely cautious about going anywhere. But that’s only right after the incident. A few days later, it’s work as usual. Security is such a big issue, but then the population is so huge, where do you even begin to control? Today we don’t have an option. One needs to be more alert, observant and cautious.”

As for the fest, Dino feels that there just might be more people thronging in to pray for the victims and their families too. “I think a lot of people will also be there praying to God to keep them and their families safe,” explains Dino.

The actor himself will be there praying for peace and happiness as always. “I usually go to the church late at night and I feel so much calm and at peace… it’s hard to put it in words. But for me it’s immensely important that I have that one sided conversation with God. There’s so much positive energy and excitement around the fest too, that it’s hard to not feel the joy,” smiles Dino.
